Ever wondered what goes on on Cockatoo Island? Or the story behind the Lighthouse at the entrance to Sydney Harbour?
Well if you missed last night's speaker you will need to continue to wonder.
Garry Cook spoke about these important landmarks and the work of the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust. And as a volunteer
I'm suprised no one in Rotary has grabbed him to become a member. He is enthusiastic, knowledgable and a great speaker. He did the subject proud.
Mind you PP John and PP Max were able to add some new information to his talk. In fact I began to think during the thanks we were going to have two speakers for the
price of one.
So just as another reminder, don't forget there are a couple of good nights in the Ern Clift School Public speaking which is always
interesting and back by popular demand our own PP Liz's daughter Catriona Wood and her overseas travels. You will see the whole year appears in the list above now. [Thanks pp Brian]
So make sure these nights appear in your diaries and "must attend" nights.
Also please make a special effort to attend the Club assembly on the 22nd of March. I know I still go on a bit about it but
without Club Member involvement the club stagnates and dies..[sound familiar?] I have no idea what President Carl has on the agenda but I
feel sure that ideas on how to rejuvinate the club will be high on any list of wishes.
Attendance notice
Don't forget that for apologies
and guest numbers you MUST advise Peter Panos on :
otherwise you will be charged a dinner fee.
See you Monday.... the 18th January
